Aggregates
Concrete
We provide approved aggregate for concrete use, including 57’s and 67’s when requested.
Aglime
Our Aglime is used to neutralize the acidity in soils. We provide a very fine product, produced through an air classifier, which improves its effectiveness. Our Aglime is consistently among the best in the State of Kentucky.
Construction Agregate
Caldwell Stone provides building materials for many different construction projects such as: roads, commercial and residential buildings, bridges, erosion control, driveways, asphalt pavement, and foundations. We also provide state approved material for highways in both asphalt mixes and base material.
Crushed Stone
Clean Stone (no dust)
4’s
(.75″-1.5″ rock with no fines, size of a hen egg) - works well as the first layer for residential roadways or entrances.
8’s
(.25″-.5″ rock with no fines, size of a marble) - used for backfill on pipe jobs, parking areas, and driveways.
23’s or 2’s
(1″-3″ rock with no fines, size of a fist) - works well to stabilize construction entrances and as the first layer on a newly constructed roadway or driveway.
57’s
(.5″-1″ rock with no fines, plastic bottle cap size) - used underneath concrete when compaction is important. Also used on driveways and parking lots.
67’s
(.5”-.75” rock with no fines) - used in ready-mix concrete applications, as well as pipeline backfilling.
Base Stones
DGA – Dense Graded Aggregate
(Rock 1″ max with fines blended in) - used for driveways, parking lots and trail paths.
610’s
(Rock 1″ top size with crusher run) - used for driveways, parking lots, trail paths and as a less expensive backfill product.
CSB – Crushed Stone Base
(Rock 1.5″ max with fines blended in) - used for driveways, parking lots and trail paths.
Fines
CIS or DD#10 – manufactured limestone sand
(3/16″ down to dust) - used as bedding under and between pavers as well as inside barns and in horse arenas.
Rip Rap

Class II Rip Rap
(5”-9″ rock, softball size to cantaloupe size) - provides slope stability and erosion control. Often used in roadside ditches to channel water.
Class III Rip Rap
(6″-18″ rock, basketball size to car tire size) - larger material to provide slope stability and erosion control. Used in roadside ditches too.
Round Gravel
4’s Round Gravel
(1.5” round rock) - used mainly as decorative stone and around playgrounds. Light brown in color.
67’s Round Gravel
(3/4” round rock) - used mainly as decorative stone and around playgrounds. Light brown in color.
